Norfolk Parish Training Support - Julie King, CiLCA Qualified Clerk

Julie first became involved in Parish Councils in 2005 when she took on the role of clerk to Tasburgh Parish Council. She quickly absorbed the training available working her way through ‘Working with Your Council’ and gaining her CiLCA in 2008. During her time at Tasburgh she was instrumental in a £50,000 playground refurbishment project and secured funding for and managed a project to convert a disused, charity owned field into a nature reserve which has since won two awards. Julie has provided locum support for many councils in need of urgent assistance and has worked for Newton Flotman Parish Council, she now clerks for Saxlingham Nethergate.

Julie is one of the founding Partners of Norfolk PTS, having established the business in 2016 along with Luisa Cantera and Di Dann.

Julie’s early career was in retail with John Lewis, where she provided support and training in stock management and systems. In 2011, Julie began training local councils and has never looked back. She is now Norfolk PTS’ CiLCA trainer and delivers a range of training for Norfolk PTS.

Recognising that this is a sector where you never stop learning, Julie has recently embarked on the Community Governance degree.
