Course Content:
This webinar identifies the realistic changes Councils can make to address the local impacts of Climate Change and growing Biodiversity Crisis. This topic has never been more relevant; particularly as Town & Parish Councils now have a duty to help tackle the growing biodiversity crises. This session identifies the practical steps Councils can realistically implement; to make a genuine difference and help enhance wildlife within your communities.
The webinar will examine:
- Complying with the new Biodiversity Duty
- Relevant national and county strategies/policies
Also, the Actions & Opportunities available including:
- Accessible advice, support and funding
- Liaising and working in partnership with local groups
- Examples of Biodiversity Action Plans
- Case studies of community action
- Managing land to enhance biodiversity
- Engaging and bringing your communities with you
Course Tutor:
Mike Deegan Consultancy
Mike has over 25 years’ experience of writing successful funding bids and developing thriving community & environmental projects that can really help support an organisation. His expertise in working for a charity, being a parish councillor with his local Parish Council, where he has developed award winning biodiversity and community projects means that Mike can fully understand how smaller bodies and organisations operate. Furthermore, Mike is adept at working at a community level to cut through the sometimes-bewildering processes – to deal quickly and effectively in sourcing funding or to achieve positive outcomes for what is needed locally.
